The 14th Yihong Xia Best Paper Award is Announced
The 14th Yihong Xia Best Paper awards was handed out along with other best paper awards during the annual CICF
conference in Guangzhou on July 10, 2019. Special thanks to Professors Xiaoyun Yu and Zhiguo He, conference co-chairs for their support of our efforts and Professor Liyan Yang for presenting the award, as well as CICF & SAIF for the support for our award.
We selected the following two papers for our award in 2019:
1. “Financing Experimentation,” by Tong Liu, University of Pennsylvania; and
2. “Dynamic Market Making and Asset Pricing," by Wen Chen, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Yajun Wang, City University of New York

1. “Do shareholder preferences affect corporate policies?” by Johan Sulaeman of Southern Methodist University; and
2. “The Value of Independent Directors: Evidence from Sudden Deaths” by Dang Bang NGUYEN and Kasper Nielsen of Chinese University of Hong Kong
The third Yihong Xia Best Paper Award is Announced
The ceremony for the third Yihong Best Paper awards was handed out along with other best paper awards during the annual CICF
conference in Da Lian on July 3, 2008. This year, we had the honor to have Prof. Michael Brennan to have announced and handed the awards. We should all thank Charles Cao, conference co-organizer, again for his continuing support of our
efforts and CICF for its support for our award.
We selected the following two papers for our award in 2008:
1. "Attention and Trading," by Dr. Yu Yuan(University of Pennsylvania Ph.D., 2008; assistant professor, The University of Iowa); and
2. "我国上市公司退市制度实施效果的实证分析", 冯芸,刘艳琴,上海交通大学

The second Yihong Xia Best Paper Award is Announced
The ceremony for the second Yihong Best Paper awards was handed out along with other best paper awards during the annual CICF
conference in Chengdu on July 10, 2007. We should all thank
Charles Cao, conference co-organizer, for his continuing support of our
efforts.
At suggested by Charles, we decided to select TWO papers for the award (each
with a $1000 check from the Foundation), one from the pool of accepted
papers written by authors from within China and the other from outside
China. We selected two winning papers for the award:
1. "Herding, information aggregation and momentum effects," by Dr. Pengjie
Gao (Northwestern Ph.D., 2007; assistant professor, Notre Dame); and
2. "The difference of portfolio allocation between state-owned banks and
joint-equity banks in China," by Prof. Jia, Chunxin, of the Guanghua School
of Management at Peking University
The first Yihong Xia Best Paper Award is Announced
The winner for the First Yihong Xia Best Paper award, presented at the 2006
China International Finance Conference in Xi'an, is Dr. Yang, Liu. The
title of the paper is "The Real Determinants of Asset Sales."
Dr. Yang graduated from University of Maryland in 2006 with a Ph.D. in
Finance, and joined the Anderson School of University of California, Los
Angeles as an assistant professor of finance.
