The qualification for Yihong Xia Best Paper Award is updated. Please refer to the Award page for details.

The second Yihong Xia Best Paper Award is Announced

The ceremony for the second Yihong Best Paper awards, during the conference dinner and handed out along with other best paper awards for the annual CICF conference in Chengdu on July 10, was a success. We should all thank Charles Cao, conference co-organizer, for his continuing support of our efforts.

At suggested by Charles, we decided to select TWO papers for the award (each with a $1000 check from the Foundation), one from the pool of accepted papers written by authors from within China and the other from outside China. We selected two winning papers for the award:

1. "Herding, information aggregation and momentum effects," by Dr. Pengjie Gao (Northwestern Ph.D., 2007; assistant professor, Notre Dame); and

2. "The difference of portfolio allocation between state-owned banks and joint-equity banks in China," by Prof. Jia, Chunxin, of the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University
